European Genre Forum

18 - 20 November

The European Genre Forum (EGF) is a pan European training programme that sets to boost the careers of future players in the continents genre film industry through trainings, panels and pitching sessions. The programme is jointly organised by Fantastic Zagreb, Imagine Film Festival (Amsterdam), Black Nights FF and its Industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event  (Tallinn), and Screen Division (Paris).  From 2017 the program is supported by the MEDIA program of the European Commission.

 

 

The goals of EGF are:

                                                              

to provide a comprehensive creative development network for the whole diversity of European genre professionals and projects to work as a pre-development platform for talents to enter co-production markets to discover, promote and encourage talents across the spectrum from directors and producers to sound, VFX, and special effects experts to establish and develop connections between genre and traditional lm industry sectors by linking EGF talents to regional financiers, film commissions & locations incentives, post- production specialists and other potential collaborations to promote European genre films and professionals throughout the world via collaborations and tie-ins with partners in the US and Asia

                            

The EGF Forum Tallinn is held 18 - 20  November and will bring nine up-and coming European genre filmmakers with hot projects in development to Tallinn for a three-day extensive mentoring and networking atelier program including case studies of Finniss slasher hit Bodom, focus on Russian big business genre industry with case studies of The Duelist and Ice plus workshops on scoring, story and project expansion through transmedia and multi-platforms, emotional impact of scoring in genre films, and last but not least - how to attract and package for sales agents.
