About Eye on Films

First developed in January 2011 by Wide with the support of the European Commission (Creative Europe MEDIA Programme), EoF is a label and a support platform dedicated to the promotion and circulation of first and second European films. Thanks to the support from the European Commission and with our network of more than 150 film professionals (including 52 film festivals, 75 distributors and numerous exhibitors based in more than 45 countries), the programme guarantees the promotion, exhibition and commercialisation of EoF films worldwide.

Within the frame of festival partners, EoF invites directors to meet the audience, present their films and introduce screenings, but also to participate in interviews, debates or to lead masterclasses. The programme ensures the selection of the films in festivals official competitions. To enhance the distribution possibilities of EoF films, the programme provides financial support the distribution partners related to their P&A expenses when they release an EoF film (thanks to the grant received from the European Commission). Therefore, EoF provides its European and non-European distribution partners with subsidies for the release of European films.
