Baltic Preview is a networking event for film professionals , initiated by ShortEst | Estonian Short Film Center and Development Centre of Creative Industries Creative Gate. Its goal is to be a representational and lobbying event for Baltic short films on an international level. During the 2-day event we showcase fifteen new short films from Baltic countries to our invited guests: international programmers, buyers and distributors; and organise roundtables to discuss short film production, distribution and financing strategies to share experience. Baltic Preview is also a good opportunity for those festivals who value a world or international premiere format.
What are the requisites for making short films? How is it possible to reach a wider audience with short films? To whom can we sell short films? These, and many other questions, will be discussed from different perspectives. Do film festivals have a role in short film distribution and what could be the possible situation in the future? What kind of short films do festivals look for? Participating experts are representatives of Tampere Film Festival and Tampere Film Agency, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Animafest Zagreb, Vienna Shorts, Locarno Film Festival.
